TFS shines @ CHS

CHS 2010 saw the best results ever by Squad TFS, 10 medals in total. PB's galore and great individual results made for a three fantastic days of competition. Eliza Barton continued her dominance of the 800m @ CHS winning her fifth consecutive title in a slick 2:13.92. Eliza backed this performance up with a win in the 1500m in a solid tactical race.

In one of the largest winning margins @ CHS, Beatrice Collard was impressive winning her first CHS track title by more than 9 seconds, her winning time of 2:23.80 was a two second PB and a national qualifying time.

Annaleise Barton and Andrea Lamas both had impressive championships with Annalesie winning two silver medals in the 1500 & 3k and Andrea running a PB in the 800m to win silver then backing up 2 hours later to win bronze in the 3k behind Annaleise.

All medals aside the performance of the meet, perhaps the year or even Jimbo's coaching career was Bianca Grimaldi's 4th place in the 800m. Bianca ran 2:25.28 which lowered her PB by 13 seconds from Regional in August. The amazing thing about this result was that 12 months ago Bianca was a local student at Westfields with a PB of 3:02. To improve 37 seconds over two laps of a running track in a career is amazing, to achieve this result in 12 months is very hard to put in perspective. The things that can be taken from this performance is that Bianca obviously has the capacity to be a great runner and that there is no substitution for determination. The question also has to be asked, how many Bianca's are out there?

All in all a great three days of competition. Well done to all who competed.
